ALASKA, a desolate wasteland at the borderline of civilization... A place where you can easily lose your way, your bearings and your very mind!

One man goes in search of adventure, freedom and “a piece of the good life”, but soon finds that the reality is no picnic.

Plummeting temperatures, technical disasters (and a severe lack of any practical skills) soon plunge our hero into a nightmarish world of extreme survival, haunted by all things living, dead and Athabaskan.

Blackfish Theatre’s highly acclaimed show boldly follows in the intrepid footsteps of Bear Grylls and Ray Mears. This masterful trio; Giles King, Craig Johnson and Ian Ross (Kneehigh Theatre) use film, firelight, live music and a whole host of forest wildlife to cleverly transport you into the unknown; ALASKA is a tragi-comic riot of Pythonesque dottiness guaranteed to leave you spellbound.

Blackfish returns for a second tour with their sell-out original comedy written by Carl Grose (Soho Theatre, BBC TV and Radio, Kneehigh, RSC, National Theatre and o-region) and directed by Simon Harvey (Kneehigh, Cscape Dance, O-Region and Theatre Damfino).

‘From the fur-coated singing of the “good ol’ boy” nutty commercial to the audience helped entry of various cuddly beasts of the wild, from its superb soundtrack to its high level of performance and production values, it is faultless and very funny’

West Briton

‘Alaska’s comedy and charm have captivated for the entirety of its duration. And, beneath its frozen surface, it has an uplifting message which will melt even the most frozen of hearts’

York Post
